Check out our third featured small business owner, Melissa, of mommie chic and me. If you have little ones in your life this is the place to shop, right in the heart of League City, but also close to Clear Lake and Friendswood. She carries the cutest clothes for babies and children. Besides the adorable clothes you can find shoes, Baptism items, monogramming, and great gift ideas. What inspired you to start your boutique?
Melissa has always been in retail and after working in the children's section of a department store her dream of opening her own boutique was born. When she moved to League City she realized there were no children stores in the area, and as she started to have children (and people around her started to have children) her dream became a reality. She purchased the store 8 years ago (in January) and decided to keep the name, mommie chic and me for a few reasons. Besides MCM being her initials, the website was established, and her 4 year old kept saying the name, could there be any more signs?

How would you describe your personal style?
Definitely classic with a modern twist.
How or why did you start your boutique?
She knew the industry well, and knew that there was a definite need in the market.
Do you give back to the community, if so how?
Melissa has offered her time a lot through volunteering, especially with the Lunar Rendezvous Festival. She has helped with the auction (for multiple years), worked on the social media/PR committee, as well as helped by being a co-chair for the court. Melissa also gives back by donating items to various events/groups.
